Anker’s latest MagGo series is compatible with Qi2 magnetic wireless charging

Anker’s charging accessories have earned their popularity for good reasons. They often mirror many of the features found in first-party products while being more affordable. This holds true for Anker’s wireless MagGo lineup, which has received an update to support the new Qi2 charging standard from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).

The new Qi2 MagGo range from Anker consists of seven products. This lineup includes a 6600 mAh power bank that attaches to your phone, as well as a collapsible 3-in-1 fast-charging station designed for AirPods, Apple Watch, and 15-watt Qi2 phone charging. An updated version of Anker’s 8-in-1 charging station will also be available, featuring two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, three outlets, and a Qi2 phone charger.

Previously, Anker’s MagGo accessories were compatible with MagSafe but not officially certified, limiting them to delivering 7.5-watt magnetic wireless charging instead of the full 15-watt output. Anker proudly announces that its Qi2 MagGo product lineup is among the first to receive full compliance certification from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) for the latest Qi2 standard, which builds upon Apple’s technology.

According to Anker, the performance of each accessory is on par with Apple’s 15W MagSafe technology and should be compatible with any Apple MagSafe iPhone products. However, it’s worth noting that it is possible, although not officially confirmed, that future Apple iPhone 15 models may feature built-in Qi2 support, potentially eliminating the need for MagSafe certification.

Expect Anker’s new MagGo products to become available in the fall, coinciding with the likely release of Qi2-compatible smartphones in the market.
